The author

Jack London (1876-1916) was among the most widely read American writers of his time. From a youth of brutal labour and hardship he forged a raw, vital prose: The Call of the Wild, White Fang. With The Iron Heel (1908) he imagined the rise of a tyrannical oligarchy, in one of the first great modern dystopias. The work is in the public domain worldwide.
